Some of the earliest members of the nation's regular peacetime army, Buffalo Soldiers were sent to the most dangerous, undeveloped parts of the Western Frontier. Featuring the collections of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Anthony L. Powell, with illustrations from Avel de Knight. The Buffalo Soldiers surveys nearly five decades of American history
and tells the story of these early African Americans, who earned a reputation for bravery in service to the U.S. Army.

All programs are free with suggested Museum admission. Neither tickets nor reservations are required. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that you arrive in plenty of time to enter the Museum and locate the program space. Please use the main entrance at Central Park West at 79th Street.
